The new Millennium Technology Prize, at one million euros the world's biggest technology prize, is presented every other year by the Finnish Technology Award Foundation.The prize acknowledges innovations which directly promote quality of life, which embrace humane values and which encourage sustainable economic development.

The first Millennium Technology Prize was awarded in 2004 to Tim Berners-Lee, the inventor of the World Wide Web.
